Pre-reading:

This course is interactive with in depth sessions on assessment, treatment and management of the dizzy patient. There will be assessments and exams to confirm knowledge and learning. It is critical that all participants complete the provided pre-reading articles prior to commencement of the course.

During the course our instructors will provide a critical review of assessment techniques and exercises used in the rehabilitation of vestibular and balance disorders.

Teaching methodologies:

Case study approach, small group discussions and tutorials, patient presentations, skill-based classes, interactive instructional tools, various balance tests and balance training, infrared video-oculography, Video Head Impulse test and clinical decision-making.

Notes:

  • All participants must bring their laptop computer, tablet or iPad.
  • After hours study is essential before the course commences and during the course week. Study guides will be provided to assist you with the pre-course readings and preparation of specific tutorials.
  • All participants are required to present a case study and take the written and skill-based examination.
  • Most lecture notes, papers and course materials will be provided electronically.
  • Results of final examinations will be mailed to participants within six weeks after completion of the course.
  • A Certificate of Achievement (with the total CPD hours) will be awarded to those participants who successfully pass the examinations.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be in writing and are subject to a cancellation fee of $550.00 (incl. GST).  No refunds will be issued for cancellation after 10th December 2014.

Accommodation:

This is the responsibility of the participant. The Centre located in the heart of the city at Level 2, 70 Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide SA 5000.

We encourage participants to make their hotel reservations when booking our Course, as accommodation in Adelaide will be at a premium due to the Fringe Festival and the Adelaide Festival of Arts.
